Festivals and traffic jams
The "
ganesh festival" is comming to an end .. Mammoth idols being towed to the seaface for their final destination... Along with all the pomp and festivity comes the imminent
traffic jam .. Traffic in parts of mumbai has come to a virtual stand still .. Most of the offices around mumbai have shut down early ..The Roads will be full of people dancing away to the beat of heavy drums ..Color all over .. Whatever one may look at the whole thing as, Its a moment for which many
mumbaikars eagerly wait. ...
I'm sitting on my desk as usual .. punching off this keayboard.. finally got video working on linux. Dealing with device drivers can be quite an effort.. That reminds me of the famous Linus torvald verse "
When men were men and wrote their own device drivers" .
The end of the festival also brings the end of my stay in siddharth nagar. I plan to move in a better place in malad. Hope things will be fine :) .....
Ups and downs ......
sometimes u just feel real good.. everything works ..and sometimes .. nothing does! .. well today has been the kind of day where things just wouldnt work .. there were wide misunderstandings .. on the human side .. errors in the machine side (configuration files) and maybe i just need to go back to square one and start all over again. ..
The voip project is doing good .. little issues which have to be settled down.. I dont know why there is a queer feeling in me today.. Think i'll get over it. Think i should go back to GOA and relax a bit .. rediscover myself .. I have certainly changed over the couple of years. For better or worse.. Just hope that i will be able to find my drive .. enthusiasm .. to continue in this rat race ..
I have to go back to Linux .That is where i have always found peace. always .. Its strange .. how such an inanimate thing can influence ones life . I have never looked upoun it as an operating system .. because it isnt one ! its much more than that .. Its a philosophy of coexisting in the digital anthill .. I'll dive back into linux .. as deep as i possibly can .. and try to find peace ..

Last night I had been to a
Manglorian - Christian wedding . I have been to many goan weddings .. There was a distinct difference which i could notice .. The Weddings in Goa are much closer to what one would see in the hollywood movies ...In the manglorian wedding , there were distinct traces of the Hindu culture .. including a "
mangalsutra " which is rare in other christian weddings ..
Once again , i was forced to think about the social compexities related to "a wedding" . In simple words, we have complicated one of the very fundamental activities of life . I just hope that the "essence" of being man and wife does not get lost in the quest for achieving a spendid wedding..
Yet another experience in the city of dreams .. Im back to work now .. but now and then my mind wanders in those unknown spaces .. trying to answer the very fundamenal questions of life ..
Life in the fast lane
These couple of weeks I have been living at breakneck speed . Just chilling out like the way i did when i first landed in Mumbai. The
economic Divide of this city of mumbai is more visible to me now .. i have lost track of days .. They are just passing by whithout even caring to stop by and say hello! .
I have to network with the fellow luggers in the city . The mumbai Linux Users Group (LUG) is partly dead. Its not like my home lug ..
ilug-goa . I miss those sunday meetings . Debating over issues in the linux world . Talking about cool new releases.
I've entered into the VoIP world now. hope to meet my TUX during this project . I'm sick of unwillingly crashing into
Micro$oft time and again..
On the Entertainment front.. I've seen
Shrek2 .. nice movie .. DreamWorks has really done a good job. (I bet they use Linux ;) .Just like James Cameroon used 200 Linux machines to render the titanic in software !! Iwas dragged into a hindi film too :( some abstract thing called doom . At the end of it i couldnt decide .what genere this film would belong to..
